Lynn Plourde, a prolific author of children’s book, is a lifelong Mainer. She was born in Dexter, spent her formative years in Skowhegan and now lives in Winthrop. She has authored 29 books for children, including “Merry Moosey Christmas,” “At One: In a Place Called Maine” and “Pigs in the Mud in the Middle of the Rud.” She has also co-authored a graphic novel with Donn Fendler, “Lost Trail: Nine Days Alone in the Wilderness.” Her books have won numerous awards including the Los Angeles Times Best Children’s Book, Chicago Public Library Best of the Best and the Oppenheim Gold Award. In addition to writing, she worked as a speech language therapist in Maine schools for many years and received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Maine.
