A year ago, Sarah Coburn was working as a lawyer in Philadelphia. She moved to Maine to join her partner, Daniel, owner of Frith Farm in Scarborough, and didn’t yet know what kind of work she’d do here. Coburn started helping out on the farm, working the soil, planting, harvesting, and found that “living and working in the same place, immersed in the community, and caring for the earth was deeply satisfying.” Now she farms full-time alongside Daniel at Frith Farm, a fully functional organic farm where over 142 families come to gather vegetables, flowers, free range eggs and a variety of farm fresh meats as part of the farm’s community supported agriculture (CSA) program. The farm’s produce can also be purchased at the Scarborough Farmers Market (Sundays at the Town Hall parking lot) as well as Lois’ Natural Market and The Portland Food Co-op, both in Portland.
