Amma Lombard: Pain and passion set to music

Portland-based singer Anna Lombard has been skillfully weaving her personal pain and passion into lush jams since she was a teenager.

Inspired by blues and soul music, her vocals are rich and clear as a bell. In the past, Lombard toured with Gypsy Tailwind and later, Anna and the Diggs, playing catchy, infectious folk music. In 2013, she released her solo debut album, “Head Full
of Bells,” which the Portland Press Herald called “artfully produced with precise vision” and “velvety textured.”

Most recently, Lombard has joined forces with local music legend Dave Gutter to create Armies. The duo’s self-titled debut album is a brilliant entry into the Maine music canon.
